President Dan Ginter
On behalf of the officers of The United Singers Federation of Pennsylvania, thank you for your interest in our organization. As you can see, we are still in the process of expanding our web page.
The United Singers Federation of Pennsylvania was formed to continue the German Heritage in Song. At this time we have 5 member choruses located in Altoona, Lebanon, Mon Yough area, Reading and Williamsport. Each year, a competition is held, known as the Annual Saengerfest, or “singers’ festival,” which is held on the 2nd full weekend of June. Member choruses take turns hosting the Saengerfest. The choruses compete in any or all of the categories of Ladies, Mixed and Mens divisions.
The Federation also holds an annual business meeting, known as the Delegaten Meeting, on the 2nd Saturday in October.
At the Delegaten meeting held in October, 2005, I was elected as President of the Federation. It is an honor to continue to serve in that capacity. I have also been fortunate to hold many different offices with the Federation.
I started singing with the Altoona Maennerchor in July of 1975. In those 41 years, I have held numerous offices in the Altoona Maennerchor, including my current office of Treasurer, which I have held since 1985. In the past 41 years, I have attended 40 Annual Saengerfests in various cities throughout Pennsylvania. I have also attended 30 to 35 annual Delegaten Meetings as a delegate during that period.
